This video is pretty amazing. Bahadurzada is moved close to tears as he recounts over two years of recovery after double shoulder surgery. For ten months he was unable to sleep and for a large portion unable to even lift a glass of water.

This in itself deserves a thread of its own but will get lost in the Conor Diaz fallout.

Incredible story of overcoming - Coming from Afganistan and seeing atrocities during the Soviet invasion and escaping the Taliban - this guy truly deserves our respect.

Bicep tendons cut and labarum completely detached on both sides. Holy F

It's pretty damn impressive. Mentally weaker people would've given up a long time ago. I'd never seen an interview with Siyar before. Such a soft-spoken guy, very cool.

he was sad about his performance against Thatch.
dude is a beast if he is sad at that performance

I didn't expect him to win tbh. From being out of the game for 2 years to fighting a dude that went 4 rounds with a former champion seemed like a very big task to me and that was without knowing this backstory. It's impressive he pulled it off.

heart > technique

Coming off a single shoulder surgery has been tough, I can't even imagine a double shoulder surgery. He must have had some good people looking after him.
