Is it me or does it seem like the UFC has pretty much ignored Benson in the promotion of this upcoming card? If you visit the UFC's youtube page it's pretty much the Connor and Cowboy show. This is really strange because we've only known for a week that Cowboy was gonna be on this card yet we've known for more than two months that Benson was co-headlining the card. You would think with a former champ there would be more push than what we're seeing and certainly more push than the guy who he beat 2x and was never a champion. I guess we know what the UFC is looking for: victories from Mcgregor and Cerrone.
Benson is a great fighter but he's uninteresting to many and seems like he may be on the way down. Will be a stern test for Cowboy who is clearly a fan favourite company man, entertaining as hell and on a hot streak. Noone is surprised ufc isn't pushing 36 year old, coming off suspension, grotesque Russian / German Siver when he is fighting the orgs fastest rising star.
Benson is the man. But the UFC dosent like him. He dosent sell and he isn't exciting anymore. It's his fault. Guida is in the same boat
Lawls. Seriously tho Benson is a lay'n'pray-er who stopped his winning ways. You know what happens to lay'n'pray-ers that stop winning right? They get thrown out like common trash.
If the people who know of Siver now all farted, their farts would weigh more than all the people who knew of Siver before this fight was announced.
They spent their money on the guys who give the biggest bang for the buck. I like Ben and Denis but they are not the really interesting guys in these matchups. Both Conor and Cowboy are far more interesting characters.
Its actually smart to promote cerrone... for the reasons TS mentioned. Ben has already had 2 months of promotion. Cerrone deserves some for stepping up on such short notice. That said, idk, I think Ben takes it.
There is a few reasons . Benson is a point fighter , he is fairly boring in every way . He shows no interest in improving himself as a fighter and has stated that he is very happy with all his performances inside the octagon . He seems incapable of finishing fights anymore and reality is "cowboy" is way more popular , fan friendly and takes fighting seriously . Also took this on what 15 days notice . Can't wait for "Cowboy" to submit Benson "snooze" Henderson. Also they realise what they have with Conor so they should promote the crap out of him.
wow. i'm usually pretty on point with cards, but i didn't even know that was this card. I thought it was on a card after this.
I mean, that is kinda funny but yer dumb. Siver is ranked number 10... That settles that. Also, the number 5 guy is fighting the number 10 guy for a title shot. Simply brilliant.
