Since when does Sherdog predicts huge upsets just because it COULD happen?

I'm actually a Jones hater but this needed to be said.

OSP COULD win, as in there is a possibility of that happening, but picking him to win means giving him more than %50 chance to win the fight, right ? The whole 'Sign here for future shaming' , 'OSP will shock the world' etc... threads seem so silly to me. Even if he ends up winning the fight its a no-brainer that he had much less than %50 chance to win the fight.

I suppose the risk/reward ratio of picking a huge underdog is worth the shot.... If the huge underdog loses no one will remember your pick, if he wins your thread will headline Sherdog forums and you get to say "I CALLED IT!!!!"

My prediction; Jon Jones will win this fight. (Rare pick)

Yeah going out on a limb here.

At least I have much higher chance to not to look like a dork.

Smh.

It's a tale as old as shertard brah.

Is Normal.

Thread starter either looks like a genius, or is conspicuously MIA after fight result blows up in their face,

Certain people always pick the underdog, 95% of the time they look like idiots. 5% of the time they're geniuses, and they will be sure to remind you, especially if a huge underdog wins.

I predicted
Fedor over Nog
Randleman over Crocop
Soku over Nog
Serra over GSP
Griffin over Shogun
Werdum over Fedor
Weidman over Silva
TJ over Barao
Holly over Ronda

I know what I'm doing

OSP via submission 1st round
Bet it all

Most of the people don't back up their picks with arguments. If they at least give my some points why certain things will happen, i could buy it.

Most of the time it's just "Fighter X will get ko'd because sherdog"

You look like an idiot now, since there are almost never 95% favorites/5% dogs in UFC fights. You just pulled those numbers out of your ass and dont really know what you are talking about.

Everyone wants to seem smarter, so they pretend like they know something for sure.

Even when I say "this will happen", I imply "this is what should happen, but it may not necessarily happen"

There's always that guy that wants to pick the underdog every time.

Whoa, do you dare to ask casual fans for technical analysis? Ask Eugene & Kid Nate (BloodyElbow writers) for technical analysis, they will be so amused.

TBH i would consider myself a casual fan. I don't have a black belt and i never competed, but it's just annoying to read some bs on this forum. I'm just in for the memes :D
