Just saw the movies for the first time. Extremely entertaining. The first one is better than the second movie, though. I love how Marv takes care of all the problems in the 2nd movie.

Only thing is that the Sin City 2 is confusing. A lot of it makes me believe that it's a prequel, but it's really not because of Alba's character and her building up for revenge.

Eva green topless saved the second one IMO. It was a clusterfuck. I really liked the first though.

Sin City 2 is unwatchable, it's like a TV version of the original, which was amazing.

The Marv section from the 1st one is pure genius. The rest of it is not on that level, and does not hold up to repeated viewings for me.

Mickey Rourke sells that voiceover narrative style, in a way that no one else comes close to touching.

I find it best to revisit that first Marv section as a standalone short film, and then stop it when that part ends.

I recommend picking up the graphic novels if that sounds like something you'd be down for. The source material is obviously better than the movies. As far as the confusing narrative, each segment is based off a different book which originally told the story in chronological order. They Tarantino'd it. (This is Robert Rodriguez we're talking about here)

Marv died in the first Sin City, so 2 is a prequel, yes.

All of the stories in both films aren't particularly linear, tbh. Some take place well be or after others, even in the same film.

Shout to Jessica Alba for being sexy as fuck.

I was not aware there was a second one.

F. U. to Jessica Alba for accepting the role which required nudity, and then pulling her star power to change her mind and decide at the last minute that she didn't want to get naked after all, despite playing a STRIPPER, in what was supposed to be a seedy bar in an R-rated violent movie, but getting her way with director Robert Rodriguez basically having to relent because they were already deep into production, and she's Jessica Alba.

I wonder who the most powerful character in Sin City is. I got it narrowed down to either Marv or Miho

The first one is great. The second one pales in comparison and came out almost a decade later when no one cared anymore.

2 is a mix. Some parts prequel, some parts sequel.

-Dwight + Ava part is a prequel
-Nancy part is sequel to her segment in Sin City 1
-Marv in SS2 is a prequel to 1

Okay, I guess its a prequel overall, but the timelines are all over the place.

Hell yes, Eva Green tah tahs are always nice, but Jessica Alba cuts her face in the second. I dont think anything can save that.

I didn't find 2 to be terrible like some people did, but it's definitely inferior to the first.

Yes, yes, why can more strippers/dancers in real life look and move like her?

Because you are not a boom with a zoom out, perfect lighting, and fan blowing.

With a enough beer and imagination they can all look like that, to much though and they look like soulless demons with their inner child lying dead next to you, asking, why daddy, why? imo

You are correct, but the venue, can do something with lighting, and I am sure they can add some fans and have them on and off at the right moments.

I love the first one. I remember watching the scene where Dwight is talking to the disembodied head in his car while the police lights splash colour into the frame, it was 2am and raining outside irl, and I was fucking transfixed and loving it. Great moment.
