Internet ghouls are cashing in on Kobe Bryant’s death by bumping up the prices of the star’s special edition radio controlled model helicopters. The gyro heli - which is officially licensed by the NBA - had been on sale for as little as six pounds before Sunday’s tragedy. But after the horror smash - which killed nine in California - eBay auctioneers rocketed the cost of the models with starting bids set at more than £300.

One listing gives the option to buy the LA Lakers chopper for £580 without having to bid.

There are 41 potential buyers ‘watching’ the auction, which means they will be alerted to any new offers.

There are people selling those memorial t-shirts from yesterday for like 500+ dollars on eBay. Outside of Staples, people are selling Kobe shirts. People are trying to make money off this incident. It is no shocker.
