Dana has only one true friend in MMA and that is Chuck Liddle. When Liddle went on a losing streak, that hurt Dana greatly and he decided that he doesn't want to be friends with fighters because seeing them decline is very painful thing to watch.

He did look like he cared less and less about that over the years. Especially after Brocktober.

It's a business relationship. Being friends with them only creates drama.

That's true. Also, he tried to do his best to please all fighters or at least win them over but some would tell him off and over the years he tried to be more impersonal with them.

Are you friends with your boss? Like real friends.

Absolutely not. He's the boss and the fighter's work for him. I'm not friends outside of work with my bosses, total conflict of interest.

1. Who the hell has 500 actual friends?

2. How many 50 year olds with kids want to be good buddies with a bunch of tatted up 20 year olds?

3. And just fuckin no. A professional relationship is just that. He's friendly with a lot of fighters, but nobody want's their "friends"(with whom they would never hang out under any other circumstances) trying to use all their fake friendships as leverage to get favors and preferential treatment.

Fake friendships with people who are trying to use you always work out great for everybody.
