As we know now, the connections were not to Russia, but to Israel. I am guessing this places the left and the right in a bit of a pickle. So, war room, should we let another Israeli spy free?

A photo from Donald Trump's Instagram account shows George Papadopoulos, third from left, at a "National Security Meeting" in Washington in March 2016.

No to the title question.

Bodily noises and fluids to the content of OP.

Thread needs more coffee...

He might as well erase whatever little bit of doubt there is that he's obstructing justice.

Honestly, more information needs to be made public about it before it’s considered.

It is hilarious it is yet another charge that has nothing to do with Trump or Russia.

Mueller was investigating Trump adviser as unregistered agent of Israel, his wife says

“I know he doesn’t have anything to do with Russia,” she said in an interview. “We know he was under scrutiny because of his ties to Israel, not his ties to Russia....

A person familiar with the Hudson Institute said no one from the think tank has ever been contacted by the special counsel’s office regarding Papadopoulos’s work there, including on Israel-related issues. <---HUH?!?

In October 2015, Papadopoulos wrote a column for the Israeli publication Haaretz entitled “Natural Gas Isn’t Just about Israel.” He also attended a series of energy conferences in Israel, including one held in April 2016, just days after he was named to Trump’s campaign, according to Israeli media accounts.

Being an unregistered agent of Israel doesn't mean you can't also be an agent of Russia too.

You made that name up. I refuse to believe Papadopoulos can be anything more than a cartoon character's name

1.) There's no "As we know now, the connections were not to Russia, but to Israel". You are presented as settled something that is contradicted by most of the evidence.

2.) The plea documents and Papadopoulos's testimony explicitly spell out Papadopoulos's involvement with Russia. The plea documents also explained how it tied into the investigation. He had undisclosed connections to Russia, lied about them, and admitted to lying after being confronted with documentation. This was the thing to which he pleaded guilty.

3.) Although it is possible that he was also investigated for being involved with israel, your source for that is his wife, who was not party to the investigation and is unlikely to have any first-hand knowledge of the investigation.

4.) Even if he was also investigated for being an unregistered Israeli agent, that would have little relevance to whether he was likewise involved with Russia.

5.) His wife's other claim that he was not involved with Russia at all is, as discussed, explicitly contradicted by his own personal statements, actions, emails, messages, and travel records.

In an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller News Foundation, Mangiante also claimed that it was former Trump campaign aide Papadopoulos who, during an interview with the FBI on Jan. 27, 2017, brought up Joseph Mifsud, the mysterious Maltese professor who mentioned Hillary Clinton’s emails to him during a meeting in London in April 2016....

Trump Aide Was ‘Absolutely Not’ Involved In Russian Collusion

Who gives a shit that his wife says he didn't do it?

Both he and multiple people more directly involved have said he did. He sent emails/messages in which he talked about doing the exact things she's claiming he didn't.
