I think anytime you have a case you should appeal. The worst that will happen is they won't turn over your loss.

If there is some "answer the bell" rule, then yeah. I sure would.
You can't say the ref is supposed to control the situation and leave it at that. The commission oversees the refs, so (again, IF there is protocol here), commission could rule the ref negligent and NC the fight ... maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe

If the ref had called the fight for Romero failing to answer the bell, so be it. But given that this is a fight I prefer less ref involvement to more, and Kennedy had just as much chance to finish Romero in the third as Romero did to finish Kennedy.
I was impressed by both fighters, but more impressed with the one who put his opponent in a position where the ref had to step in.

He's supposed to answer the bell, but the ref has the right to halt the action at any moment. Big John did when the inspector had an issue with applied Vaseline on Romero's eye by the official cutman.

If he wants to really solidify his image as a crybaby/sore loser, he should go for it. Otherwise, nah, bitching about it takes him further down the ranks than the loss does as far as fan appeal. It was a GREAT fucking fight, don't taint it with semantic bullshit.

True. Never seen a ref have to chase a fighters cornermen out of a corner before. It did leave a bit of a bad taste. Still, as a fight fan, I would rather see fighters settle their business in the ring (or cage) rather than some bureaucracy selectively enforcing rules.
