That was a great knockdown.. Another example of a round deserving a higher score

No.

it won him the round, thats all.

No. Bisping was winning the round until the knee the knee was the only reason Silva gets a 10-9. Also that would mean rounds 1 & 2 should be a 10-8 for Bisping as he put Silva down in both.

a round is to be scored as a 10-8 round when a contestant overwhelmingly dominates by striking or grappling in a round.

this was not the case.

he didnt put silva down i nthe first round,he just rocked him. Otherwise i agree.

why would a knockdown in the last .5 second of a round be given more credit than any other knockdown?

Should round 1 be 10-8 for bisbing? Round 2?

The difference is Bisping would have won those rounds without the knockdown.

If it wasn't for the knee, anderson handily loses round 3....

That would be insane. He was arguably losing that round before the knee.

Not a 10 8. They're usually bell to bell beat downs not earned by a knock down in the last 10 seconds. If anderson was smart he would've tried to follow up smash him not celebrate the knee.

You could just as well make the argument that Bisping was winning the round and that knee made it a draw.

If he would have pounced on him he might have got the finish or he might have got a 10-8 round which would have resulted in a draw according to how the score cards were but he didn't he celebrated early and fucked it all up. He is as veteran as it gets and made a rookie mistake. Coulda, woulda, shoulda, it don't mean shit on Monday.

he would never have gotten a 10 8 round outta that, but one follow up punch mightve done the trick.

Most people in here making sense. This is different.

No, don't try to fnd excuses.
Silva loss because Silva blew it.

Should've won him the fight, imo.

I really wonder if he tried to follow up if he would have had enough time to finish. The round was ending right after the strike so extra strikes would have quickly become illegal....

Obviously no. 10-8 is for rounds where the opponent is dominated bell to bell or is knocked down 2-3 times minimum.

Bisping should have got a 10-8 the round he knocked down Anderson then.

I've seen many, many fights stopped for less.

Nope, but I think it should have ended the fight. How long did Bisping stay down before getting to his feet?

Herb asked him if he was ok,he said yes,so he knew the fight was still on,he doesnt need to do jumping jacks to prove something to the crowd. Certainly Anderson and his team werent even paying attention to him. By the time those idiots got done celebrating he was allready on his stool.
