terrible just terrible performance by both fighters, but Shield in particular because he is making a habit of repeating the same display. He's a BJJ guy, perfer to stand and bang. Ok, fine. However, when your standup is crap and you have weak cardio, you have to change something. Bought over from SF, he was destine to take over the WW division. Instead, it's one boring performance after another.

He's not the most fun dude to watch, but you can't deny his skillset. And he sure has alot of decisions.

    New fitch?

Not one of his UFC fight was exciting. The only one that I would watch again is Ellenberger viciously knocking him out.

Only if he's draped in a stars & stripes after dying in war, which if his coffin was left in the octagon for 15 minutes while someone polished it would be as entertaining as his "fights".

Shields fights are like sparring sessions. And he does not stand and bang either. His strikes look like the weakest strikes I've seen anyone throw.

no he shouldnt, but that wasnt a terrible performance as well

  9. I thought it was great grappling fight with beautiful reversals. When you realize who his opponent was, it's huge.

however, he doesn't have a gas tank to fight 5 rounds, mouth was fully open at the beginning of round 3. I don't care much for seeing him in a 5 rounder until he improves his conditioning.

Wake up. It was a grappling match. Not everyone gets off on ko's. There is great skill in grappling and bjj. I enjoyed it. You don't like then dont watch it.....

For a Shields fight? This was pure gold, it doesn't get more exciting and enjoyable than that, rarely have I enjoyed watching a fight of his more than this one.

So yeah, it was pretty boring.

As Shields' fights go, that was top 5 IMO.
Still a bit of a snoozer but hey.

Sucks that Maia didn't prove to be the title-contender we all hoped he would be. Back to the drawing board....and no, please no more Shields in main events.

This about sums it up. No one that knows who these guys are can complain if they chose to watch this fight. Everyone knew it was going to be a grinding grappling contest. Which it was, and a good one at that.

Only if he's the underdog and it's in Brazil.

    :D

    Brazilians love gritty BJJ contests.

No he shouldn't the most he should get is co-main events but that wasn't a boring fight. I found it entertaining though I wish they both had more power in their strikes.
