I know what you gonna say.. it's up to the referee to jump in and protect the fighter once he knows he won't be able to defend himself. However, he sometimes does not have the time to react quickly and preserve the ko'd fighter's physical integrity.

I remember the last deadly shots given by Rampage against an obviously out Wanderlei (and the ref actually tried to stop him from hitting the man), Robbie against Trigg (Trigg said he could have died from it), and Hendo in a few fights. That last elbow on Lombard was unnecessary.

Now here's the thing : how would you prevent things like that ? People are gonna say that the adrenaline makes you continue and some following punches can be thrown in the action.

But a few KOs make me think some fighters are dangerous. It's a dick move and i don't respect the likes of Rampage and Hendo because of that. Do you think it should be sanctioned, or at least there should be an awareness around all this ?

refs do a good enough job. Not possible always to know if a guy is out or not. easier to punish guys who abuse a KOed opponent then removing hitting KOed opponents

it's a combat sport. just get over it

It's going to be very hard to do anything about that in the rules as long as we allow ground and pound. There are tons of examples where it's hard to say if it's warranted to hit someone more or not.

I do think it's bad sportsmanship when you hit someone that's clearly unconscious, and it should definitely get criticized, but I don't think you can do much about it without restricting things that do work right now.

Any decent fighter shouldn't crank a sub after the tap, nor hit someone that's clearly unconscious.

The problem with that is MMA is not boxing. You can't make it the responsibility of the fighter to know when to stop. How would you enforce such a thing? In boxing if a guy falls down then the other fighter knows to stop but in MMA you can't do that. You keep fighting until the ref says stop.

God i hate you soft people that complain about violence.

Go watch something else for fuck sake.

There is not one thing disgraceful about that. You need to stop watching MMA if that bothers you.

No! Every fighter should hit their opponent atleast 3 times once unconscious. If not, you get dq'd and face a 2 year suspension. That should be long enough to Learn how to finish your opponent!
