I personally think the UFC let's him go after the fight with Hendricks. Lombard apparently has a very expensive contract and he's on a 3 fight skid.

As most of you know, Lombard was Bellator's original Middleweight champion. Could Lombard go through Kato, Salter, Manhoef, and Carvalho to reclaim the Bellator Middleweight title? I think it's very possible considering the current state of Bellator's MW division.

A fight with Kato and rematch with Schlemenko would be interesting. I just dont think hes a big name or draw for Bellator to pick him back up.

i think he'd walk through the middleweight division there again. Would prefer to see him fight Khalidov

If Bellator picked up Kevin Souza and Kevin Casey, I don't think them signing Lombard again would be too far-fetched. Lombard has a (sometimes) exciting style and would fit right back into Bellator's Middleweight division. Lombard could get a tune-up against Rhino or Joe Schilling. Or you can put him right in the mix against Kato or Salter.

MW is in serious need of contenders, why not try the OG champ?

First round Lombard still a GOAT candidate along with young shogun, motivated penn, sealevel Cain and hallway Mir

A solid pick up at Middleweight, but I don't think he will become a Champion again.

I agree with that statement regarding Kevin Casey but Souza went 3-1 in the UFC with 2 finishes and 2 post fight bonuses, he is a great fighter than can still rebound after his loss in Bellator and make some waves in their FW/LW division he is not a MW so it seemed odd to name drop him.

However to see Lombard fight Manhoef would be great. Or Carvahlo I cannot stand him now after that Manhoef fight.

Yes, but only if he's juiced to the gills

Damn, my body is ready for any of those fights
It would be nice to see him against Bellator WW division (Lima, Daley, Koreshkov or MVP)

Maybe he wants to fight top guys in the sport? Of cause it's plausible that he will return.

I think for sure he is going to get cut, and why not??

He is 39, three fight losing streak, cost a lot of money, and is semi draw at best. I guess you can throw in PED's in the mix to. Heck, reread what I typed and why would anyone keep him around.

Problem is what is Bellator really going to want to pay him?? He has the same issues with them also. At this point of his career if he pops positive again its basically retirement for him.
