I dont really understand why this isnt just common procedure at the events... if you are a champion... you should walk out with the belt and hand it over before you check into the octagon...

you could wear it out, carry it out, over the shoulder it out... "whatever" it out... lol

but do you think this should be changed? i mean i know its not a big deal and maybe the fighters dont wanna deal with carrying it and all that when they are trying to remain focused... but i dont know...

it would be a whole lot cooler if they did...

Every single one coming up through the ranks. If you have 30 or more bring the entourage. :icon_chee j/k I think people are use to it and who doesn't want the belt wrapped around their waste if they win it from a champion.

That would be very WWE-like. Maybe Bruce Buffer could hold it up in the middle of the Octagon!

I have no issue with it, but I can see how a fighter wouldn't wanna deal with carrying that big strap on their way to the cage...they got enough things to worry about at that point.

I always saw it kind of like when the fight is starting the belt is in "neutral" position, kinda like it's no ones belt but the winner, hence the champion putting the belt on the line, they go in fighting for it. But I see what you mean, and having the champion carry it out would be cool.

I hate the fact that there's no ramp/pyro/smoke. I want the fighters to be seen as larger-than-life. I want them to be seen as near-superhuman.

Right now when they walk through the crowd, they look like guys on their way to the check-cashing place so they can get beer money.

ONLY the ufc belt obviously... lol once you leave an organization... you arent champion there anymore...

but i dont get what you are saying about "who doesnt want the belt wrapped around their waist if they win it from a champion?"

    ...

it wouldnt affect that. the champion would just walk out with the belt... hand it to dana or whoever once he or she reaches the octagon to the check in station... then everything else from that point on will stay the exact same... i just dont know why the champion doesnt get to walk out with the belt... it just seems kinda weird..

Tito used to do it. I always thought it brought intensity to the fight. It was almost like he was saying "its my belt. You're going to have to kill me to take it".

They used to. More often than not someone in their crew would carry it, but sometimes the fighters themselves carried or wore the belt out. I liked it, especially someone behind them carrying it up high.

Boxers have their belt carried out as well, either way would be an improvement... as long as the belt was on show during the walkout.

now see i think that would be too much... i like that its more like a sport now and not such a spectacle... i loved pride but pride is gone and theres no sense in trying to recreate it... i think fireworks, pyro, and smoke would be "WWE-like"...

i like the simple walk-ins and i usually get pumped up by just their attitude and walkout song alone... i even liked werdum's last walkout against travis browne... i thought he instantly seemed larger than life...

but i dont think just walking out with the belt is too "WWE"... i do understand that the belt is in a neutral state at that point so maybe thats why they dont... but its just something to think about...
