Nah he should wait it out until at LEAST the end of the year before looking for another fight IMO. It hasn't even been a whole year yet since he fought Blaydes and it's only 5 months into the year. Taking another fight so early into the year when the fight still could very much happen this year would just benefit Jon.

He is a pugilist contracted with the UFC, at the end of the day it's on his employer to get him a fight and for Tom to just be ready to fight Jon at the drop of a hat, which is why I said he should be in constant training.

He already has the interim belt and is the undisputed next in line if not already the world's best HW (I certainly think so). Make this the longest camp of his life, for the inevitable fight for the vacant belt, even though I think Tommy should be promoted to undisputed when Jon fucks off and have his fight against Curtis count as a defense.

Of course Tom should, he's been sitting on his ass in his prime sheerly due to his sense of entitlement. The irony is that old man Jones fought FOUR MONTHS MORE RECENTLY than Primadonna Aspinall. Aspinall just sitting around trying to rush an older fighter into fighting before he's ready.....and demanding to fight him even though Jones has beaten the number one guy Gane and Tom wants to skip over him.

Tom knows his only chance is trying to force a battle worn Jones into a rushed possibly injury riddled overtraining situation. He's trying to use his extra 4 months of rest, recovery, and preparation to his advantage. Jones simply requested some extra time to prepare, which would make up for the massive 4 month advantage Tom currently has.

His fans are like Khabib fans now and come up with all kinds of bizarre creepy white knight arguments for him like "yeah he didn't beat Gane but he beat Volkov so it's basically the same thing!". It only makes sense if you're a cult member I guess. Why not get a real world, actual win over a top guy, instead of relying on demented hypothetical MMAth horseshit.

Then if he is able to get by Gane, you just watch what happens.....Jones will be ready to fight and Tom will say no no noooooo I need more time to prepare, I just recently fought! Hypocrisy at its finest.
