Since the Reebok deal, most fights have pitted black shorts with white stripes against white shorts with black stripes. The few exceptions have been TUF finales with solid colors, title fights with black/grey against white/black, and the unique Aldo-McGregor fight with black/grey against green/black. Now that Reebok's shocked our world and added a handful of colors, I thought it'd be fun to see how they did against each other on Saturday.

Here's their records, along with a rating giving their relative strengths. Basil Green's undefeated at 1-0 (or 2-0 if you count McGregor's win over Aldo).

you must have been bored during the fights to bother collecting data for this ,.........just like the rest of us that night.

Bored after the fights, but yeah.

From what I've read, fighters have a choice of one color or black or white. The color depends on their country: USA & New Zealand are blue, Brazil and Venezuela are yellow, Japan is red, and Mexico is green.

it's like going to horse track now

I thought the red and blue shorts looked pretty spiffy. Green looks good too. Anything is better than the black and white combo. But maybe I'd feel differently if the colors came first.

The yellow ones looked bad with the color of the mat. I hope they bring back the grey mat.

I guess I'm partial to 'excellent' red. 'Collegiate royal' blue comes in second for me.
