as an aside, my father made me a small birdhouse. I put it up in my backyard and immediately had a wren checking it out. He found a lady and made a home of this house. They had some babies in there this summer too... love birds...

Yeah, seagulls will gobble whatever. I was rucking along the Hillsborough River and saw a seagull swoop down and inhale a huge rat that crawled out from under the rocks along the shore. How it was able to fly away with that kind of payload in it's gullet was pretty amazing, as if the aforementioned act wasn't enough.
