I am seeing Ross Pearson on the card today, and I remember he fought earlier this month. This got me to thinking about short notice fighters and the higher likelihood that they are clean fighters being that they are clearly not worried about cycles and peaking. Many fighters turn down short notice fights with the excuse that they are not prepared for the opponent or injuries. But I think it's safe to assume that many times that they have not cycled properly and are not confident in themselves because of it. Short notice fighters or fighters who fight frequently that come to mind are Donald Cerrone, Nate Diaz, Michael Bisbing, and I would even throw Conor in that group because of his expressed desire to fight more often than not. I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting. To me, in this time when it is not clear at all who is using PEDs and who is not, fighters who are willing to take fights on short notice demonstrate the clearest cases of being clean.
