I know there was just a thread about this that was deleted but I think as a society and as people in general we need to keep the discussion open.

This was a terrible act of terrorism and hate and it's only logical that it is going to generate a lot of negative comments but this is only natural. Right now all over America and the world there are animated discussions happening and I'm willing to bet most of them contain a lot of negativity but we can't stop because of that. I think the mods may have overstepped their boundaries in this case. The solution is not shutting down the conversation and trying to control people. To me it's an act of fear and that just lets the bad guys win.

I'm hoping you guys will let the discussion continue and possibly deal with the trouble makers directly instead of shutting down the entire discussion. Don't give into fear and hate.

Omar Mateen, a 29-year-old U.S.-born citizen, has been identified as the suspect in Sunday's mass shooting that left at least 50 dead and more than 50 others wounded at the Pulse Nightclub, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

I’ll take the hit and apologies to the mods. I didn’t know the thread had been moved and will understand if this thread is deleted. Also didn’t mean to sound harsh to the mods. I think you guys do a great job. I just feel strongly that the discussion should continue.


Can we try to keep this thread and see if it stays civil? If not I completely understand and am sorry if I broke any rules.
