But why dont ya assess his skill set according to his MMA fights, like the one vs Murakami in 1996?
(he was realistically too old vs Severn in 2000)

Vale had a couple real fights.
He wasn’t very good at all. He was good at selling his product back in the day.

I know a guy who’s a black belt in shoot fighting under Vale. He had surprisingly good skills on the ground, and got his black belt in bjj later on pretty quick.
