Shogun was the original "dominates in a rematch" guy

  1. his fans would always bring this up too when fantasizing about his return.

The dude lost to Mark Coleman and then tko'd him in a rematch.

He got RNC'd by Forrest Griffin and then ko'd him in a rematch.

Lost a decision against Machida and then ko'd him in a rematch.

Then he lost a decision against Dan Henderson and in the rematch... he got ko'd by him.

Don't assume that Jones will do better in the rematch just because he did better against Gustafsson and DC.

Jones peaked as a martial artist and is in decline as an athlete.

Dominic Reyes is on a rapid upward trajectory.

The jump in skill he made between the fight with Volkan and Jones is comparable to the increase in power level that Goku experienced between the fight with Raditz and his fight against Vegeta.

He's going to reach another level for the rematch and Jones isn't going to be on his level.
