Shoguns first 2 losses came by the hands of wrestlers: Babalu Sobral and Mark Coleman. And how can we forget that ugly Coleman 2 fight, or the hard losses to Jones and Sonnen?

Its obvious that Shogun doesnt have any wrestling background, although having good takedows , being good at the clinch and being a good grappler... Hes been preparing in California with Jacob Harman since january and besides that 3 week hiatus cause of the knee injury, im very curious if his wrestling improved, specially takedown defense in this 3 month period of training.

This fight against Corey is really important for Mauricio, it can give him some momentum or push him even more towards retirement.

I think this is his retirement fight, win or lose.

They should give Shogun some veteran strikers, not young hungry wrestlers.

I'd watch Shogun vs Pokrajac, or vs Manuwa or something.

Shogun will be LHW champion in 2016.

This is his comeback and final title run.

Shogun vs Manuwa was a good fight to make imo

It's not like he got ground and pounded' by every wrestler. None of those loses had to do with wrestling. Coleman fluke accident, sonnen' a sub and jones destroyed him

It was pathetic and sad to see Shogun taken down and choked out by that pharma scumbag Chael Sonnen. I fear this ends the same way for my all time favorite fighter.

Most will say Shogun vs Manuwa is a squash match for Jimi, but I'm with TS.

Manuela might very well win but that matchup makes sense.

This. Give this man some fun fights, he's on his way out. What's the point of having Corey humping him for 3 rounds? So he can have a name on his streak? Who's next for Shogun; Pat Cummins? Manuwa, Krylov, Blachowicz are all better options.

War Shogun, a true legend of the game, my favourite fighter along with Anderson and BJ when I first started watching MMA

Shogun has feared Wrestlers ever since Coleman first destroyed him.

and Babalu he was what, 18? going against a more experienced fighter.

Forest beat him with wrestling but in that fight and any other he seems to be able to omaplata out of position on the ground all day.
