If the fight were to happen at LHW, will Shogun find that chin?

Man, hard to pick. Rockhold should be able to destroy a past-his-prime Shogun, but frigging Bisping KO'd him. I feel like Rockhold is now the new Jardine; a really good fighter that will get highlight reel KO'd often due to a poor chin and defense.

If his name is Rockhold then the Dean of Mean doesn’t make sense.

Rockhold at his best KOs or strangles Shogun. Can see recently resurgent Shogun clipping chinny Rockhold though. Really depends on which version of both guys shows up on the night.

Prime for Prime Shogun would land a bomb on Luke and finish up with some ground and pound until he’s in an Actual Living Dieded

Right now it’s a toss up really.

Would be a great addition to UFC 237. Rockhold launches himself into the top 10 with a nice finish. Hopefully Shogun will retire after that.

Rockhold. I don't want shogun fighting anymore. Rockhold has a lot of fight left.

Rockhold probably, but would be crossing my fingers for Shogun.

    Rockhold is an arrogant jerk.

Competitive fight. I'll take Shogun because I really don't think Rockhold is even interested in fighting anymore

How much is that chin banged owing to the weight cuts?

Look at Dilly, who was starring in 'Bambi On Ice' from a shot that did not even really cleanly land.

IMO, and yes I'm biased, but I would heavily favor Shogun via knockout. I think he matches up very favorably with Rockhold. Luke might be the most elite fighter that I would favor Shogun over right now.

Luke would win.. but I rather see Luke vs Gus or Luke vs Smith/Jones loser.

Rockhold is one of the best grapplers in the world in the higher divisions. Problem is, he thinks he's some sort of K-1 champ. Dude needs to take fights to the ground. He has some striking skills from outside that can set up shots. But his defense and chin in the pocket is horrendous.

Rockhold is better than 2019 Shogun literally everywhere, but I just don't trust the guys chin

I'd go with Rockhold by sub but wouldn't be surprised if he got clipped

Man, I used to be so high on rockhold in the strike force days, but ever since the bisping loss he has looked awful. he looks terrible against branch. hands low, getting tagged constantly.... He's so talented but his striking defense is a serious problem. when he fights at his full potential he's IMO one of the best middleweights ever period. but lately? I can't say I've been impressed.

that being said so long as he doesn't fight like a jackass, he should be able to destroy shogun or gustafsson with relative ease. but if he wants to leave his hands down and chin up as he has been lately, I wouldn't bet on him.
