Personally, I'm a huge Shogun Rua fan! By far one of my favourite fighters of all time, and I find it disappointing that a man who's still so young is pretty much past it.

He's got many fantastic fights and victories, but in the name of giving this man the respect he deserves I decided to see what you guys think was his best victory? Either in terms of style of win, or the importance of the victory.

If I had to pick mine... I guess it would have to be the Machida KO, so many thought he was screwed in their first fight, and Machida was the unsolvable puzzle. Just to see him walk through him like that and pound him unconscious was a pretty beautiful moment. He was legitimised by that run he went on, because so many in the US and outside Japan on the whole thought he was a phony. Getting choked out by Griffin and barely beating Coleman will do that to ya!

So yes, Shogun fans or even Shogun haters... what is Mauricio's finest moment?

My favorite was his second fight with Machida after he clearly got robbed in their first fight so the next fight the judges was not needed and he won the UFC belt.

I'd also have to pick Machida... Both fights were awesome.

Shogun always fun to watch, this thread seems premature he is still in the UFC.

Shoguns best victory is the fact his brain still functions after all the beatings he has received

Purely just based off the fact that we all know he cannot fight at the top level any more. Getting KO'd by OSP was the final straw for him. He also has lost to Alex G, and fights with Jones again, Cormier or AJ would end terribly. He's on that seniors tour lol, he'll keep up the Lil' Nog, Evans type of fights. He might get Manuwa again or Bader at the most!

The Arona win was pretty big at the time.

But ya. Machida win and Rampage win

Arona Rampage Machida, his best 3 which is tops is individual opinion.

How about Lil' Nog in his prime?

Debatable decision but huge name too right?

or Chuck? I know Chuck was on the way down but that KO was Shogun's first UFC moment, first time people saw what the PRIDE fans saw.

Come on, No love for his victory over Overeem? He just ran through Overeem in both of their fights. Even in the first one, Overeem was winning some exchanges but in the second one, God he just demolished the demolition man.
Also another noteworthy victory of his is over Rampage. That was prime Rampage he beat. Even in a better fashion than his teammate Axe murderer.

His best win was starching chuck Liddell for the belt. I got a dui that night

I was judging it by how relevant the opponent was at the time also.... but... freakin A Shogun was nasty with the Ground and Pound vs Overeem

Machida, because he destroyed a top guy in record time. He just went for it hard, and got it. It was like the rampage fight. Shogun at his most violent..but machida TRIED to turn the tide,he took shogun down twice, and it didnt matter. So yes id say this was his best victory. It was all tears after that for his fans.

The Machida KO and becoming the champ is probably his finest moment. The one sided beatdown of Rampage was quite impressive as well.

Machida 2, though if you can combine Overeem & Arona wins to win the GP, then I'd say that night was his best victory
