Only under Pride rules. Lack of kicks to the head on the ground is the only reason Shogun is not champ now.
 
Love the guy. 205 is so weak right now. But I don't see it happening. Just want to be blessed with some more wins before retiring. Will always remember Pride Shogun... #GP GOAT

@CereserBr Never count a healthy Shogun out. I think he could be top 5. At 185 , better bless us with a Bisping Fight... ;)

He’s on the smaller end for sure but big legs, he has never been a live in the gym type Romero looking guy, but he would be a big 185er.

He’s a bit like Fedor to me, hasn’t stepped up to modern training because spent the best part of his career as an unstoppable wrecking ball. Shogun spent a youth where sparring was to the knockout and some fights looked to the death.

Aged bad, load of injury, not being small holding him back I reckon. I’d rather see him in Bellator at this point for interesting fights.

If Rumble couldn’t put DC away the patched together corpse of Shogun isn’t doing it. I’m sure at 20 he might have flying kicked the head of DC shoulders but Shogun isn’t going to make a miracle return to form unfortunately
