shin block

I stand southpaw most the time and when they go for an inside leg kick with there right 9 out 10x I block with my knee. Also sometimes when I'm blocking body roundhouse kicks I get with my elbows. Never consciously tried to do it but it just tends to happen.

I find the same thing.

in muay chaiya/boran it is blocked with a bent knee. and it is painful for the kicker, lol. Just like punches are often blocked with the elbow. but then again, muay chaiya isn't really designed for sparring.

I block with the relatively soft outside of the bent knee, not with the shin itself, and I've never hurt a sparring partner by doing so. Then again most of my sparring partners don't throw roundhouses very hard

ur really better off blocking with just below the knee so kinda the face of ur knee and upper shin blocking with ur knee especialy bare shin kicks can screw ur knee up ive swollen it a couple times

should raise your leg only a little, so they catch the top part of your lower leg.
