Crime Sheriff deputy executed in Houston

There probably IS an increase in police deaths by ambush. But I'd wager they're so small as to be inconsequential. From 3 a year to 6 a year or something.

The raw numbers are probably so tiny as to be insignificant to anyone other than the usual fear mongers.

There have been that many in just the last couple of months and they just happen to coincide with the current anti-police sentiment that's been talked about all over the news.

Ya Reagan was a wonderful president. His policies were awesome and the right wing hasn't made up fairy tale myths about this man.

U changed my view. Thanks a lot

No matter what you thought about Regan the numbers of officer deaths dropped from the 70's.

Blaming Regan who was president during the 80's for an increase is dishonest.

Did Regan cause it to go down. I don't have a clue, maybe he did or maybe it was another factor that caused the 80's to be safer.

You can try an blame Regan all you want for making the 80's more dangerous for police but the simple fact is the 70's were more dangerous for police.

I am not trying to get you to like Regan or his polices but the say Regan caused more police deaths by trying to use a statistic does not add up.

Funny thing is, states started adding CCW and it started to grow. Maybe that was a factor, maybe it wasn't.

I don't understand when we go from 250 to 180 to in different years you start complaining about the guy with the 180. I am not going to blame Carter for the numbers being much worse on his watch.

You do this kind of thing in several subjects. These are the numbers for police officer deaths while on duty per year.

Regan was president from 81-89. Did Regan cause it to go down? I don't have a clue. It is obvious it was much worse in the 70's. The 70's only had one year below 200, the 80's quit having 200's after 2 years.

How can you even try and blame Regan for high numbers of law enforcement deaths? There are 12 times in this list that it broke 200, look at where they are.

It wouldn't prove anything but it would be interesting to start comparing CCW by year relative to murder rate.
