Cubo De Sangre has once again brought this once honourable Club to a new low. After befouling our senses with Bad Taste, that sordid sultan of slimy perversities has decided to profligate his brand of depravity even more. To accomplish this aim, he has decided to field 4 films that he would use the word erotic to describe. Needless to say, I will be needing all of you to send me pictures of your ID-cards so to make sure that all of you are 18+.

And may God have mercy on your souls...

Candidates:

Animal Instincts (1992)

Director: Gregory Dark

Stars: Shannon Whirry, Maxwell Caulfield, Jan-Michael Vincent

Premise: A cop videotapes his wife having various sexual encounters to spruce up their marriage. However, they soon land in hot water when a mobster learns of their marital activities.

Monamour (2006)

Director: Tinto Brass

Stars: Anna Jimskaia, Riccardo Marino, Max Parodi

Premise: An attractive, yet neglected housewife will have a scandalous affair behind her husband's back at Mantua's renowned literary festival.

My Japanese Wife Next Door (2004)

Director: Yutaka Ikejima

Stars: Naohiro Hirakawa, Akane Yazaki, Kôji Makimura

Premise: A new bride convinces everyone in her family to sleep with her.

(NOT SAFE FOR WORK!)

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986)

Director: John McNaughton

Stars: Michael Rooker, Tracy Arnold, Tom Towles

Premise: Henry, a drifter, commits a series of brutal murders, supposedly operating with impunity.

Couple things. You've got the description and trailer for Japanese Wife Next Door 2. I'm nominating pt. 1. Also, Henry isn't erotica. I consider it the opt-out choice. :D

Ah shit, sorry.

It was difficult to spot the difference between Inran naru ichizoku: Dai-ni-shô - Zetsurin no hate ni (2004) and Inran naru ichizoku: Dai-isshô - Chijin-tachi no tawamure (2004).

and trailer

I noticed now that the Trailer for both Part 1 and Part 2 are identical in their opening seconds, so that threw me off. In hindsight, that "Part 2" thing should probably have clued me in.o_O

I fixed it.

Henry isn't erotica. I consider it the opt-out choice. :D

I determined that it would be much funnier if I played it off as if you considered that erotica.

Nobody likes excuses, bro. :D

In hindsight I shoulda nominated 'em both since they're short and the flip sides of the same coin. But I already pushed my double-feature luck.

I'll take a double summon, it's what it takes to get me to come out of the woodworks these days, I guess.

In no particular order coz I'm tired and not in the mood to rate. To make up for it, here is a top ten.

Few that come in mind:

Joan Crawford in The Unknown

Not quite femme fatale, but a HM female psycho award goes for Jodie Comer's character in Killing of Eve. She's awesome and hilarious!

How the fuck you gonna make "erotica" week then even put a serial killer movie in the lineup? If you really wanted erotica week you DON'T put Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer in the line up.

That or @Cubo de Sangre wanted Henry to win and this was his way of rigging it.

I don't know man. I mean, what kind of person joins a Movie Club anyways? You pretty much have to be a sexual degenerate to even consider doing something like that in the first place. Want proof? No-one commented on Henry's inclusion in the first place. NO-ONE. Everyone just went along with it, thinking it a perfectly natural inclusion in a list like this.

Want to strengthen my argument even more? Henry's one competitor was that hyper-preserve Japanese film, which was total porno-slush. The sort of people who find Henry erotic are undoubtedly the same kind of people who consider that a fine softcore picture.

Only me and Tufts voted for the one movie that would be considered erotic by mainstream standards.

That leaves Bullitt's vote for the 90's direct-to-video Animal Instinct... and that let's be honest, that guy probably gets turned on by VHS grain at this point.

Nobody thought it was a natural inclusion lol. They were all probably wondering what I thought which was if you want erotica week then why did you give us an out? Never give the SMC an out because from my experience, we always take the out. So now when I construct my weeks, I never give an out. If I want devil week then its devil shit, devil shit, devil shit, devil shit, there is no out. If he wanted to include something "not like the others", instead of Henry, he should have picked Lair of the White Worm.

Here's my thought process. I was torn between "erotica" and "the movie you shoulda picked" (i.e. a selection from four different previous weeks of mine that I wanted to win). I never could come up with a 4th movie I liked for erotica so the two ideas got combined. No rigging. Just letting the chips fall.

he should have picked Lair of the White Worm.

Ha! That movie sucked. If anything I coulda doubled-down on Crimes of Passion. Now that's a movie.
