Sherdog is so obsessed with Jon Jones that the retirement of a true legend went unnoticed

When he first came on the scene I thought Lee would have a great career.
He was good. He was always a monster in the first round.

I agree that he should get a commentator/analyst position.

Of course I’m talking about Fighter Kevin Lee, one of the most underappreciated guys in the last decade of mma. Was close to a belt but unfortunately ran into prime Tony Ferguson. Would have loved to see him do another UFC run and beat Islam’s ass. He also had one of the top 5 greatest stanky legs of all time against Barboza, and will likely have a spot in the Stanky Leg wing of the UFC Hall of Fame.

Well played. . . . . . well played indeed.

He’s a walking, talking POS. The biggest cheater in UFC history.

Buddeh..

A “true legend”?

GFTO..

Anyone with the courage to fight mma professionally deserves respect

Weeeeell,

Except for cm punky 😅

But when you think about it... someone with little to no talent, old, little training compared to a pro, has the guts to step into the Octagon against real pro fighters. Doesn't CM Punk deserve even more respect than a real professional fighter stepping into the cage?

It's like a competitive swimmer goes for a mile swim in the ocean. Respect. But if a novice swimmer goes for a mile swim in the ocean, big ups!

Your JJDS prevented you from realizing this thread is about Kevin Lee <lmao>
No. It’s not, though.

But, I really liked the part about a year ago. When Kevin Lee was taking down past champions in the latest Tournament Of Champions 5 on Food Network.

I haven’t had the opportunity to taste his food yet. But, there’s probably about a 2% chance I might get back to Oklahoma City again someday.

If I do (or if he expands to more cities) though. I’ll definitely be eating his food.

It sounds shitty, but I appreciate him acknowledging the obvious.
I'm so tired of guys rationalizing not hanging it up (A la Ferguson).

It's refreshing seeing someone state the obvious and not let their delusions take the wheel.

You’re doubting Tony’s return? He’s about to come back and take Ilia’s 0 at 155 then beat up Islam at 170. -Champ shit only-

Question: How does Kevin Lee fit into this?

did you just call kevin lee a 'true legend'?

then again, might as well put him in the HOF. everyone else gets in, why shouldn't he.

In the end Anthony Smith got a much better send off than both FKL and JJ. Let's all take a moment to let that sink in.

Well, Smith had a better career than Kevin Lee, and the UFC haven't had a chance to give Jon a send off yet lol. They weren't going to do anything for Jon at UFC Baku lol. It'll be at an American card when he's probably in attendance.

His brother Keith Lee, who is a former MMA fighter, is making huge money on his youtube channel.

Kevin should collaborate with his brother on there. Easy money and also, not getting punched in the head.

lol I love the Anthony Smith benchmark the UFC created with fighters retiring now.

Pretty sure it was crickets when Wineland retired as well, then a couple weeks later they gave Jessica Eye a fucking speech and send off 😂 Wineland actually had a decent career, fought past his prime but in it he wasn’t some middling bum fighting in a whack division like Jessica Eye

You know what? Even regarding his Pro Wrestling career he's always been a really respectable guy. Not all people like him in the wrestleing world, but because he stands up for himself and isn't a push over or someone willing to ass kiss their way to the top.

atleast that's what i gather.

I'm not really a wrestling fan (watch Wrestlemania every year and that's about it) but I had hespect for Punk's MMA efforts. Dude gave it a crack, came up short, was forced to fight in the UFC basically because of what a draw he is.
