I have brought this up before but I am hoping it doesn't go this deep.

Tristen Critchfield, a Sherdog contributor wrote this story below. He states that jones was suspended for 1 year for "negligence" after proving that it was tainted "dick pills" that got him in trouble. This is absolute bullshit and everyone, including jones fans, knows this. He didn't "prove" anything. He gave his story, they didn't believe him and they gave him the MAX SUSPENSION. So now you have a Sherdog contributor BLATANTLY LYING or "misrepresenting the truth" in writing this story. There is a coordinated effort by the UFC PR machine to help clear jones, after all, it is good for business to get him back in the ring but is Sherdog in on this, too? I'm sure this will be promptly deleted but here's the story:

Jon Jones

Jon Jones will officially appear before the California State Athletic Commission at a hearing at the end of this month to determine his punishment for a failed drug test at UFC 214.

Jones’ hearing is listed on the CSAC’s Feb. 27 agenda. The former UFC light heavyweight champion tested positive for the anabolic steroid Turinabol during an in-competion screening in relation to his victory over Daniel Cormier in Anaheim, Calif., on July 29.

The Jackson-Wink MMA product will likely receive a fine and suspension from the CSAC. His third-round technical knockout victory over Cormier was overturned following the positive test.

Meanwhile, Jones is also facing sanctions from USADA for the anti-doping violation. As a second-time offender, “Bones” could receive up to a four-year suspension. He also tested positive for the estrogen blockers clomiphene and Letrozol in an out-of-competition test at UFC 200. Jones was ultimately suspended one year for negligence after proving that the result came from a tainted sexual enhancement pill.

Jones’ manager, Malki Kawa, recently said that he expects his fighter’s case to be resolved in time for the ex-champ to return to the Octagon in 2018.

“If USADA is a respectable organization, which I think that they are, and they take all the information they compiled, all the interviews that they’ve done and all the things they’ve seen, they know for a fact that Jon Jones was not cheating and he was not intentionally taking any type of substance,” Kawa said on “The Luke Thomas Show” on Sirius XM.

“I think they know that and everybody can come to that conclusion based on the circumstances of his situation. That’s the most I am going to say at this point because obviously it’s ongoing. I’d like to say [that there’s] about a 95 percent chance [he fights in 2018].”

Would they actually ban someone for pointing out a flaw in the story or would they go after Mandel and ask him to "correct" his article?
A good friend of mine was once banned for far less than what you’ve just done here.

I wouldn't be surprised. You have hack journalists who "bend" the truth all the time. They don't want to less press credentials or inside scoops, or whatever.

Quick... Someone take a screenshot!!
Lol! Already did but it wouldn't do me any good if I can't post. Look, sometimes the posters on Sherdog are "shady" and we know the UFC trolls these boards but I don't think the Mods would knowingly allow "actual PR guys" to act like "average fans". I just hope they see it and correct it.

I will say that i think its bad for the sport the way that the forum is divided between UFC and 'everyone else'....

All elite level mma should be discussed in the same forum and not arbitrarily separated by which group of people own the event. Which group of people is eating off the fighters plates has nothing to do with the competition in the cage....It gives an artificial boost to the UFC while letting other fighters get overlooked....

Seems like a silly reason in a legitimate sport.....

Maybe, but all I've done is point out an OBVIOUS error on Mandel's part. Would Sherdog "correct" him or "correct" me for calling him out?

I agree with you. And thanks for posting because it’s definitely interesting.

No idea about the ban though haha. Good luck.
