Not all people can watch UFCs live..

I always had the habit of reading the play by play, it at leas gave some sense of excitmenet from people who didn't know the result

BUT NOW IT HAS HUGE PHOTOS AND WE ALREADY KNOW WHO WON AN DON'T NEED TO READ SHIT

what the fuck is the point? you think the pbp will look nice because it has photos? 80% of ppl use the pbp to "read" the fight with excitement

As a developer and administrator and long time publisher of online stuff for 15 years, I would (and do) everything short of illegal activity when running an MMA multimedia / pictures / PBP site.... or any site.

You're dumb if ya don't and your competition will have a chance to close in.

The best is when an event happens elsewhere inthe world, and people come to sherdog and bitch that the PBP results are listed before the event is aired in the states lol....

Sometimes you don't get to see the event, you go to read the play by play. They have pics now for every fight basically, ruins the read.

the point of the play by play is to update and refresh the page as it is happening.

I understand d what you mean. The only way I could follow the fights was pbl(for like 4-5 months in 2011) so putting up pics would ruin it

thats the point... the pics dont mean anything. if your on the site as the fights are happening and refreshing the page your gonna read what happens as they are posted

i don't see what is the problem of reading it after the fight is over? were just talking about little photos being removed, it makes a lot of differnce for us, and little to none differnce for the rest

see thats the thing... i dont look at pbps after the fights are over unless something intresting happens in which case the pictures dont really matter.
and everytime i have looked at pbp's it was while the fights were actually happening and there were no photos loaded until well after the fight was over.
meaning i was actually waiting for them to load the text...
and at that point there are literally a googles worth of options out there....
and looking at the pics for this night of fights none of them really give away the winner.
but i guess i get why you wouldnt want the pics but were not talking about a novel here.
its a paragrah at best. just read it quick and advert your eyes from the pic
if its not the pic thats gonna give away the outcome its the yhaoo main page. or the sherdog main page headlines...
thats what happens when you cant watch the fight live or at least use the play by play the way it was meant to be used

No, you don't get it. When you are reading the pbp live as it is happening, they post a picture above the text with a caption stating the results as soon as the fight is over. It ruins the whole point of reading the pbp.

granted its been a while since ive done it. but ive never had that problem...
as im refreshing the page ive never had the result "ruined" for me... espically by a picture.
which is kinda silly cause your looking at it for the result of the fight anyway.
eveytime i look at live play by plays no pictures actually load. until well after the fight is over.
but like i said.. it has been a while

Nowadays, you can be reading a fight and refresh and all of sudden the picture with a caption of the result of the next fight will be the next thing you see. It's not like it's the worst thing ever, just a shitty design and somewhat frustrating.
