I'm wondering who wrote that, thinking it was a good idea.
And who approved it, thinking it was a good idea.
And everyone who knew about it, and stood silent knowing it was a horrible idea.

I can’t see anything, was the Tweet already deleted? What was it?

Edit: never mind, maybe there’s an issue with either Twitter itself or something on my end because I cannot see anything Tweets in other threads either.

It was deleted, for some reason, but I heard it was verified by another source.

Beyond the Summit was a esports tournament organizer operating out of California. The org where Ludwig began his influencer career. Because of the evolving developer controlled esports franchising model that came in the mid-2010's they were eventually forced to declare bankruptcy. In response Ludwig purchased them as a production company. Recently it was just found out that Beyond the Summit was taking all of Ludwigs sponsorship money to mask their losses year on year. This is the business acumen of Moists esport org co-owner.

Faze clan was sold off twice to avoid bankruptcy. 100 Thieves and Sentinels require yearly cash injections to avoid bankruptcy. Optic Gaming as a brand is a lesser version of Faze clans situation. Disguised Toast partnered with a Asian esport org who were scamming and physically robbing people involving crypto to cover costs. OTK formation announcement was that of being a esports org. After the first month they transitioned to only being a production company where they just had massive layoffs during christmas.

With Banks and Nadeshot its them trying to be recognized as business leaders in tech. For Moist its investing into known unprofitable esport games in hopes of a payout through acquisition. Its why all influencer owned esport orgs fail. Basis of their existence is being a vanity project.

EA reports Dragon Age: The Veilguard fails by wide margin to meet sales goals, per Henderson:

EA has announced that Dragon Age: The Veilguard failed to meet the company’s internal expectations. In its preliminary Q3 FY2025 earnings report, EA revealed that it was forced to lower its revenue forecast for both the quarter and fiscal year after the first Dragon Age game in 10 years missed expectations by a wide margin.

“Dragon Age engaged approximately 1.5 million players during the quarter, down nearly 50% from the company’s expectations,” the company said.

Because of the lower player engagement of Dragon Age: The Veilguard—as well as EA Sports FC 25—EA adjusted its expected net bookings for the year to be between $7-$7.15 billion compared to the originally expected $7.5-$7.8 billion. For the quarter itself, EA has adjusted its expectations to $2.21 billion in net bookings.

Great interview with Spencer. Surprised it hasn't been posted honestly. He goes over the future of Xbox and like I predicted they are going full multiplat. When he goes over the reason to pick Xbox over PS when PS will have all the games his reasoning is really weak IMO.

Sony Group stock hits another record share price after historical high late last year. In addition to recent leadership changes, behind the stock success analysts cite Sony's robust 'network' effect built around PlayStation, Crunchyroll growth, Kadokawa ownership expansion, and continued demand for its market-leading image sensors:

Microsoft's much-speculated strategy of platform-agnostic game publication alongside Call of Duty-maker acquisition pays off, making them last month #1 game publisher:

Meta’s Reality Labs reveals 5B USD operating loss in Q4. Zuckerberg’s company has been trying to make headway in VR since 2014.

VR has proven a tricky thing, IMO. It’s niche – and not + has price point issues regardless of maker. It’s more a proven than AI (fair to say?) but question marks remain on widespread adoption and utility as far as I can tell. Would love to hear thoughts from dawgs.

I got a PSVR2 for Christmas from Mrs. Worm. I’m enjoying it a lot from what little I’ve played, but have barely had much opportunity to play it because the necessary play area is covered in my kids’ clutter, in particular my daughter. She’s got blankets and pillows, stuffed animals and Barbie’s and whatever all over the living room floor. I need to clear all that shit out so I can play, because the headset scans the room to make sure it’s not cluttered. If it detects clutter all over the room it reduces the size of your “play area” so that if you move your hands out it says you’re outside the play area so you see a grid wall instead of the game. Very annoying.

AR is the mass market play more than VR. But everyone is going to keep tossing money at the latter and hopefully we'll get some trickle down to the former. The more coherent ecosystems we're getting for VR help but it's still not enough, just a fundamental price and customer education problem similar to Copilot+ and AI atm.
