Share Your Knowledge About the Days b4 the Internet

I actually like porn with storylines. If the acting is not terrible then it's pretty cool to get to know the main chick and build up some anticipation, it makes the payoff better when you finally see her naked.

Pre cell phone days

From a pay phone ...collect call to mom

"You have a collect call from.....MOM pick me up at the mall in 10 minutes!"

"Do you wish to accept?"

I would of killed to of gotten my hands on a legit playboy!

It wasn't until I was 15 I first got my hands on a shitty uk FHM.

A boy at my school returned from a vacation with family in France. He bought back a French playboy and there was a crowd of about 30/40 boys trying to see it!!

Almost caused a riot!!

When I was a kid I had a paper round at the local paki shop. He used to leave the stacks of newspapers next to where he stacked the porn mags so everyone would nick a few at the start of each round.

IQ has steadily risen with each generation, and today's youth is exploiting the greatest scientific tool humanity has ever known. They're LIVING in the real world, and they're creating a new one.

Any parent teaching a child to do otherwise is teaching that child to fail. Breaking your own wrists is not resourceful.

Obviously depriving your child of the internet and computers would be doing them a huge disservice but I do think there's something about emotional and interpersonal development that are being severely harmed.

This is really unlike anything we've seen before so we don't know what the effects are going to be. Television comes close but even then, it was pretty easy for parents to regulate it since it wasn't portable. You watched TV when you were at home, period. And you only watched what was on at that time.

With smartphones, you can be engaged all your waking hours and there's a billion things to be into. The gain in knowledge is impressive, but there's also a cost there.

Everything is for posterity.

As much as I think tech has made a generation of socially inept porn addicts, for business Smart Phones have changed the game. Even in the last few years, no need for a PC to send and check emails. No need for fax machines. No need to be present to sign docs...not to mention navigation and internet access.

I agree completely.

One problem is that new emotional and interpersonal development exists ONLY online. If you don't become fluent in that language, you'll be left far behind, socially.
