Interesting.. a lot of people are hyped on Canelo's power but Sugar Shane who took beatings from both of them said that Mayweather hits just as hard and has more snap. He also says Canelo is deceptively fast

Ppl have this misconception that PBF don't hit hard because he doesn't have many finishes.
He doesn't have many finishes because he doesn't care to go out of his way to do that.
Watch his fights vs Gatti , Corrales , Genaro Hernandez to see what he can do when hes in the mood.
Not exactly the easiest to finish were those three.

Eh, I love Shane Mosley but he says something to excuse his performance in all of his recent fights. Probably MAlignaggi will hit harder than he expected too.

I think if they put Shane in with someone slow and lumbering, theres a good shot that he'd look like a superstar again. I think he'd knock the shit out of Alfredo Angulo. Hes not beating anyone who can box.

Floyd hits you when you don't see it. So you aren't prepared. No way I believe a former lightweight hit's as hard as a JMW.

Everyone says Floyd can't punch but literally everyone he fights ends up standing there, reluctant to try anything once Floyd starts connecting.

What power has Canelo shown at 154? Junior welter weight stopping power so far.

I think Floyds power is underrated and Canelo's is overrated. Both of them by a great amount, but I still don't think Floyd hits harder.

I know Canelo has had a size advantage in most fights, but Floyd wouldn't put Lopez out in the fashion Canelo did.

What are you implying? Are you saying people do not watch tapes to prepare for fights?

I think Shane is honestly telling the truth from what he felt, if he wanted to cover up the canelo loss even more he coulda said canelo hits like a tank but he did not say that. In another interview, I think on Lopez Tonight when asked who hits harder, Floyd or Manny, Shane didn't hesitate to immediately say Manny hits harder.

I just think it is interesting most people are on Canelo's jock because of his "heavy hands" "stopping power" and all that, when he couldn't finish old Mosley (and lets be honest here, floyd could have stopped Mosley if he wanted to easily, Canelo was trying hard to get him.), and everyone seems to have this belief that Floyd doesn't hit hard and all that, but a primary source claims they hit the same. Especially when someone mentioned canelo's power over floyd and Shane said "Oh no no, Canelo isn't that kind of puncher." My 2 cents

    Merry Christmas everyone!!

In terms of 1 punch power, Canelo more than likely has Floyd beat. But when Floyd catches you, you're off balance, coming in, not expecting it, whatever. The way I see it, Floyd's power is "situational" ie: he puts himself in a position to hit you when you're not ready to receive the shot/your momentum is working against you or any number of other reasons, thereby maximizing the damage he can do with his punches.

Floyd doesn't have the same power as Alvarez, end of story. It seems a lot of fighters turn bitter with age and tend to contradict everything that is known, just for the sake of doing so. As if they start using the weight of their accomplishments and experience to give value to some opinion opposite of general knowledge, since they can't oust everybody by simply performing anymore. Fuckin Mosley...
