Serious question, should Erick Silva consider retirement from MMA after tonight?

All his past losses, were brutal. Even in the Fitch fight, Fitch landed solid shots and was even given the name "broke fitch," after that onslaught.

After hearing he had to be taken out on a stretcher to the hospital, I can't help to think he might consider retiring from MMA.

He's stuck between a rock and a hard place. His chance at title contention are clearly done. He can't get past the grapplers, nor can he get past the mid range guys. Only to make his matters worse, he's grouped in with the most stacked and dangerous weight class in all of MMA. Lombard would have had quite literally murdered him tonight.

Just a thought.

Retiring? I would say that's a bit extreme but wouldn't be a bad thing.

What he really needs is a camp change.

Definitely.

He should retire.

I mean, not getting a treadmill, or switching camps, or getting a corner who will actually give him worthwhile midfight advice wouldn't be worthwhile.

Instead, he should ... RETIRE.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahaha

Dude needs to defend himself better and protect that jaw

Is my life a lie?

If that's the case, there are quite a few fighters who should retire right along with him

You have to consider the magnitude of the beating.

He will never be the same fighter again.

Come on....no, he is 29 and has a lot to show and improve. If I where to say someone should retire it is Walburger(?), he has taken an incredible amount of punishment at a young age.

Take a short break, and switch camps. Still young and has tons of potential.

his problem is when he gets tired and just lets the other guy beat on him until it gets too terrible

he either needs cardio or his corner needs to throw in the towel

Serious answer. Yes.

That dude took about 100 legit shots to the head tonight. A few more fights like tonight and he risks serious brain damage

I think he needs to take 6 months off, reassess where he's at and reconsider his options regarding training and weight class.

If he feels like it, sure.

But there is nothing wrong with being the 27th best guy in the world.
I would love to be the 27th best guy in the world at ANYTHING.

Just putting things into perspective.
