Serious question about fan bases.

It's how Irish fans behave. It's called passion. American fans are known for being terrible and boring. 'USA' or 'Lets go 'insert team/fighter' are the only chants you have and every fan no matter who they support. In Europe fans are passionate, they have their own songs. They are creative. Irish fans drink a lot which makes them a bit more crazy. But overall the culture is very different. Americans are quite boring in our eyes.

Actually, that haircut is friggin awesome

Just checking out your Punk Avi. You got him for the win?
red pill blue pill.jpg

Man, last time i got a feeling someone would win was the t.woodley vs lawler fight. Now, i do have this feeling Punk will win this fight but if i had to base my pick only on their fighting background i would pick Gall for sure.
Interestingly, T. Woodley trained with Duke Rufus at RufusSport for the Lawler fight.

Same question after you read this:

What we currently know about CM Punk:

He has been training MMA "full time" at RufusSport since Jan 2015 & Duke himself is Punk’s main sparring partner. Punk put his debut date into Duke’s hands & would not sign until Duke said he is ready. So if Duke now says he’s ready… I believe him. Duke did an outstanding job training Woodley for Lawler. I think Punk is in good hands.

They have also been doing live full contact striking scrimmages at RufusSport with professional strikers… that Punk considers his "ameteur debut." His chin has been tested during those fights & he’s taken many punches to the face. These full contact scrimmages not only prepare Punk for taking hits… they allow Duke to gauge where he’s at & then make the proper adjustments.

Not to mention those WWE guyz take full contact hits a lot more than people realize... & get knocked around a lot.... so Punk's durability & willingness to take a hit should not be in question.

Punk has trained in Jiujitsu with Rener Gracie since 2012.

In a 2012 interview with Ariel, Punk said "Jiu-jitsu is just something I've always done." He got interested in it while in high school (1994) while training Kempo Karate under Bob Golden in Illinois. They had a jiu-jitsu black belt in the gym & he fell in love with it.

We don't know what belt he is, because Punk refuses belt ceremonies. He sticks to the “White Belt For Life” philosophy & “What does it matter if I have a blue cock or a purple cock? I’m here to learn.”

The closest we can come to determining a belt level was in 2012 he told Ariel that he he could beat Batista... in a Jiu-jitsu match... who was purple belt at the time.

Body weight, Height, & reach are all identical to Gall.

It's not like he'z getting in there with GSP or something. Gall is no joke... but he'z new to competition too.

Gall will be thrown into a media circus for the 1st time. That effects a lot of people... but Punk's been doing that for yearz.... & will be un-effected by it.

Punk is surely much tougher than people think… as WWE is tough… day in & day out… year round. He will not be afraid of contact.

Punk is in it for all the right reasonz. He wants to fight. You gotta wonder how many prize fighterz would hang it up if they won the lotto. Punk all ready got it like that & still wants to step in the cage.

True, most people have to fight in the lesser circuits before getting in the UFC... but He put himself into that situation from hard work.

4 years of gracie bjj, 1 and a half year training hard at Rufus. Punk will shock the world.

My friend was blue belt under Carlson Gracie and could defeat black belts from other martial arts. They trained for Vale Tudo at that time and you had to be really good to become a blue belt. I dont know how Rener train his students but if hes at the same level Carlson was, Punk will be a destroyer for sure.

We don't assault a fighter when he's walking towards the cage.

We do shower fighters with beer and offer them our drinks when they beat one of our hometown boys. ;)

Check the archived threads from '09...the Hawaiians set the bar for crazy that the Irish can't even comprehend

Merriem Webster credits them as the definition of Delusions of grandeur, false hope, lazy, tricked to easy, etc.

#TacoBellLoversUnite
Penn fans were the first I thought of, but I don't think they even come close. For like a good year prior to the Nate fight, every thread on here was about Conor. Even if you started a thread about heavy weights, some Conor fan would come in and try to draw a connection and hijack the thread

i literally cant get into the mindset of how much of a pathetic loser you would have to be to get a Ronda or Conor face tattoo on your person

This. Permanently marking your body as you live vicariously through other men & women is pathetic. I wouldn't get a Honda tattoo if she was my sister or Conor tat if he was my brother. It's weird and sad.

Chael Sonnen fans were pretty extreme during his feud with Silva. It was amusing how he developed a diehard fanbase overnight once he got the title shot.

Had any fan base behave like Conor fans before? Which fighter has made people go over the top like him?
Any evidence that can support the answers?

I have found some pictures that made me really curious about it:

Just because you don't understand it doesn't make it wrong as for the dudes with the tattoos, whose business is it only their own.

I am not surprised by Conor's fan base at all. It certainly picked up very quickly but it doesnt seem extraordinary . It's easy to see why people like him,and from there your going to have some who want to exaggerate what he is capable of to the 1000nth degree, big deal.
