MMA was here before social, and before the UFC. Now, where would MMA be without the UFC, but with a strong social media presence?

Would things be better, or worse?

Can MMA survive without the UFC?

Without the modern UFC MMA would be dead. It would still be illegal in many states. It may have still been popular in underground fighting but it wouldn't be on TV or in MSM.

If the UFC goes away I think MMA could survive but it would be bad. Organizations like Bellator would drop fighter pay to pennies without the UFC around paying more. It would be a hallow shell of what we have now.

Nobody can answer that. This boils down to how much you hate Dana White/Zuffa/UFC and if you think someone else could have done it better, at that point in time.
