Seperate forum for UFC and Pride discusion

Most of the UFC fans on this forum are true MMA fans. They are people who just love the sport and want to see it grow. They enjoy UFC, Pride, K1, TUF, and MMA wherever they can get it.

While a huge amount of the Pride-only fans are elitist who don't want the sport to go mainstream. They troll the main MMA board and have turned the place into a joke. They bash the UFC and anything that's not Pride and have made the place really hard to read. I would love it if UFC could get its own subforum where pro-Pride discussion wasn't allowed. That way real MMA fans could discuss the UFC without worrying about trolls.

I agree...uner mma discussion they should have seperate forums for each organiztion....it sounds like a good idea...but i dont think that many people will like it

that would do alot of damage. People have there opinions, they are all discussed in the same place. Why do we need segragation? People will become "organizationists".

I completely disagree. This is an MMA site and MMA is MMA regardless of where or who. Why are you only defending UFC fans and not good fans in general regardless which organization they favor? You sound very biased.


It's the new UFC fans mostly due to TUF that brings in the new biased fans who mock and overrate Pride fighters and praise their glorified heroes in each post. They bring up 10 year old fights to take away credit from fighters such and Wandy. True MMA fans are just sick of this new wave of fans who arent trying to educate themselves on other organizations but rather spew their thoughtless opinions. Zst, Shooto, and many other orgz I bet you can't name 10 fighters from but you're the true mma fan right?

Everytime someone with a nice thoughtout reply against a UFC fan gets a reply "stop huggin' pride's nuts". If you were a real fan you would explain your case instead of playing that game. I joined at the very worst time. I've been here long before and I've seen how the MMA discussion board has become worse since Oct 05 to now. Each passing month it gets worse, Why is that? Pride isnt that well known in the states, so explain how all these Chuck loving whitebelts who joined in 2006 are not trolls when they post things that could be read in the faq?

Your pathetic, you want to ban pro-pride discussion? If ufc fans are the true fans you claim then why would they want to ignore one of the biggest mma org in the world?

How about an american only forum where you ban and pro-foreigner disussion?

I think John Creed may be the secret account of dana white, isint that danas new policy, just pretend Pride doesnt exist so we can pretend the UFC is the undisputed no1 mma org that pays professional atheletes $2000 to get their asses kicked.

That's not true. When I want to discuss a Pride event than I can go to the Pride board, and when I want to discuss a UFC event or fighter than I can go to the UFC board. In a perfect world we would combine the two but obviously we don't live in a perfect world. The main board in its current state is horrible.

Anyone can clearly see that the UFC has problems. People who watch the UFC despite their problems are obviously bigtime MMA fans. Most of the UFC fans on this board also enjoy Pride. While a large portion of the Pride-only fans want to see the UFC die. This doesn't encourage productive discussion.

What's wrong with TUF? It's bringing new fans to the sport. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Also the fighters they select are promising up and comers who would have made it into the UFC eventually anyway. But as least TUF has its own board so that the fans who enjoy that show don't have to worry about idiots trolling their threads.

I don't recall seeing many Chuck loving whitebelts. Sherdog could easily change the usergroup settings just by clicking one checkbox and not allow whitebelts to start threads, problem solved. But that still leaves the problem of Pride trolls ruining UFC threads.

I don't want to ban anything. I want different forums to discuss different things. The only reason for anyone to get mad is because they want to participate in flamewars and chilidh bickering about which organization is better.

They already do that, in mass numbers, in pretty much every single thread in MMA Discussion.

Flame-wars are a conscious decision, so while it's not a requisite to agree with everything, members who provoke and get involved in flame-wars SHOULD be punished.

I agree to this general separation. I think it would spare us the plethora of "UFC vs. Pride" threads that usually turn into 9 pages of people calling each other idiots, and the countless "Wandy vs Chuck" and other such threads, those would stick out more in seperated forums for the two main Federations, and be easier for us to Moderate and send to the proper place, the place for fantasy match-ups, the Wasteland.

I am guilty myself of getting frustrated and acting that way. But if we had seperate forums to discuss each than it wouldn't be an issue anymore. We have different forums for Boxing, K1, TUF, et cetera so why not extend the same thing for Pride and the UFC?

The current system isn't working.
