Only 2 knockout loses (to the best) in close to 50 K-1 fights..he debuted it K-1 and fought almost exclusively there..50 fights in K-1 at the HIGHEST level

Also only 1 knockout loss in 41 fights in MMA, The Majority of them journeyman or top fighters..He took major beatings from Sergei and Fedor too..officially 1 KO from Yvel and 1 TKO from Sergey..Fedor could not finish him with brutal GnP and Sergey who is IMO easily the hardest puncher in MMA was the only to ever TKO him

After close to 100 fights with at least half of them being against super dangerous sluggers Semmy retired on top with his chin still not cracked..not even close to cracked

IMO no one in MMA has ever showed anything close to what Semmy had..K-1 had some decent chins like Hunt but they were cracked

Semmy has the goat CHIN in all of combat sports IMO

Having about a 15 inch reach advantage and 30kg on every opponent probably played a part as well

Igor Vovchanchyn was a 5'8" heavyweight, he had 128 combined MMA and Kickboxing fights and was knocked out once, by probably the hardest strike I've ever seen landed.

Igor is notable but different competition LEVEL when it comes to kickboxing..Semmy debuted in K-1 and stayed there for most of his career while Igor's kickboxing fights were mostly against regional level talent..Also most of Igor's opponents in his pre PRIDE career were not that good at striking..he maybe faced around 20 good sluggers in his entire career..by the way Igor is a great pick and probably top 5 when it comes to overall career durability

What sets Schilt apart from almost everyone else are those 49 fights in k-1 and those two fights against Sergey and Fedor in MMA..if we throw out some of the weaker guys in K-1 out then we have at least 40 fights against guys who are world experts in inducing brain damage and he comes out fine..that's crazy and IMO incomprable to any other combat athlete out there

Remember, those fights are in the Open weight class against heavyweights and super heavyweights who are the best in the world at striking ..no cans on his kickboxing record

Nope, he still "got knocked out" in his prime and got dropped a couple of times in K-1 ring, great defensive ability is not equal to GOAT chin. You have to factor in how "many" times you get tagged and how "often" you get dropped.

Hunt's chin is better, considering how often he was tagged by heaviest shots of all time.

But if you consider all combat sports, then Ali is probably the best. Have you seen ancient Ali's fights? How the fuck did you take so many shots and only got stopped once thanks to the mercy of his corner?

Yep, Hunt along with Roy Nelson and Hendo. Granted, all of their chins weakened later in their careers, but they've all taken a huge number of hard shots, especially Nelson and Hunt. Just the beatings Nelson took from JDS, Stipe, Arlovski and Werdum would've ended many fighters' careers...and that was on top of Hunt, Barnett, Overeem, Rothwell and many other heavy hitters.

And Nelson, Hunt and Hendo were all shorter fighters who had no height or reach to protect them or force opponents to throw more awkward, difficult punches.

Do you even George Chuvalo, bro?

I'd say it's more a result of his physical attributes and ability, James Toney never got ko'd either...I can hardly recall him getting rocked, but that's due to his ability to roll with shots and very rarely getting clean hit.

I agree with the rest. You praise his chin while the competition couldnt even reach it.

Also he had like 5 minutes to see the strikes coming before they finaly landed in his face.

I miss Semmy, some say he was boring but i loved him. Was not always rooting for him but sure was fun to watch. Fights against Badr and Aerts in specific.

Stop moving threads here, that were clearly intended for the mma forum. Semmy was a pride fighter as well.

He even fought in the UFC as well.

Whatever mod keeps doing this is just reading titles and moving it.

Another crap thread from the heavies landing on our subforum, ffs. It's called "Wasteland" not "Muay Thai and Kickboxing".
