bout to have a panic attack here
Funny you posted this. I remember thinking the exact same thing as watched his reaction to Nate going by. Very telling. Watch how fast his head does a 180 when he realizes whose coming. He turns to his right and his eyes go up and down in a split second. His first reaction is to gasp for air. It's an unconscious fear based response. He says nothing, but his body says everything. He is far from confident given his surroundings as Nate takes the stage. His eyes begin to go left and right in search of some level of comfort.

Neat. Who doesn't panic when they're on the losing end of a fight? Very few fighters don't, I imagine.

If anyone was gonna panic you would expect it to be the stoner.

well it's pretty honest self-assessment. but i think the real panic set in when he realized diaz wasn't getting rocked by his punches

We don't. We are kayboard warriors who don't panic even when a wild lion shows up on our computer wallpaper.

Good analysis.

He's not used to being put into situations where he doesn't feel in control in fights. In some ways, his success has cost him valuable experience.

He knows he's only breathing because there're rules in the octagon.

To paraphrase Conor himself, if this were the old days Nate would be invading Crumlin, taking Dee as his trophy slave and killing anyone who refuse to get high with him.

I'd pay to hear him say your version, word for word.
