News Sean Sherk's son 'Tegan Sherk' is currently a college wrestler and planning to move into MMA.

MMA sons n daughters historically have always flopped out. It's a strange phenomenon. There have been plenty of good second generation boxers but MMA fighter offspring seem to always end up as cans. Can anybody name a second generation MMA fighter that came close to the level their parent reached? All i can think of is names like Gracie offspring and Ryan Couture getting cut from the UFC for being pretty much dog shit? Maybe you could say baby slice reached the same level as his dad.... Kimbo was a can and so was his son.

Maybe the sport just hasnt been around long enough to get much of a sample yet

Why does he have an Onlyfans girl's name?

Why do you know what only fans girls are named? If you're one of those weird ass losers who pays for amateur porn that's cool but don't go around admitting that shit on the internet.

I'm intrigued.
Sean Sherk has a very underrated MMA career, with 41 fights with only 4 losses to Edgar, Penn, Hughes, and GSP : All UFC champions & HoF inductees.

So imagine a father that is already tough-as-nails and training his own son to follow in his footsteps, with how the sport and training has evolved since Sean's prime years I'm curious how his kid could be a real talent in the sport.

Very few 'Sons of UFC Champion' currently in the sport.

Its not 2005 anymore, unless youre competing at 185lbs or higher, crossing over at 23+ to MMA from college wrestling just doesnt seem to work out. Bo and Rinya both had wins over World games and Olympic medalists, were very elite far beyond NCAA shitters and crossed over at 24-25...it was too late and they didnt develop well in MMA fighters. Even guys like Bubba Jenkins, Lance Palmer, its just not going well for these guys like to used to. AJ Ferrari hasn't made the leap because hes still terrible on pads and doesnt do well in the gym vs half decent guys.

There's so many amazingly skilled and young prospects the UFC fails at signing, not worried about Sherks kid.

Been forever but didn't most of Sherk's steroids stuff get mostly proven to be tainted Xyience supplements that the company was actually profiting of of at the same time he was failing tests?

Again been forever, I just recall some weirdness about that whole case.

Off the top of my head, I think these are some off spring having some success in either MMA, boxing, wrestling, or martial arts.

Anderson Silva's son
Bell Mir (Frank Mir's daughter)
Rampage's Son
Callum Bisping

MMA hasn't been around that long, so I don't think we'd see a lot of offspring of fighters for another 5 to 10 years. MMA is also a weird business because in boxing, an offspring of a great fighter has a far better chance of making a ton of money (Floyd Mayweather Jr, Cesar Chavez Jr, Layla Ali, Chris Eubank Jr, etc.). That money's not guaranteed in MMA. Even famous siblings or family members in MMA haven't benefited from their sibling's in the UFC helping them out.

Randy Couture's son fought for a little while. He did okay outside the UFC, nothing special. He wasn't a credentialed wrestler like his dad, though. I believe he wrestled in high school but not college. He was more of a BJJ guy IIRC and didn't have his first MMA fight until he was 27.

Maybe, maybe not. It may be different for a guy whose dad was an MMA fighter. There's a good chance Sherk Jr. has been doing some cross-training in submissions and striking for a while already.

Ray Cooper III is marginally better than his father.
AJ McKee is more popular

That's an interesting observation. Genetics are such a reliable predictor of athletic success, but it doesn't seem to follow so much in MMA.

I have to think that environment shaped a lot of the top guys. You have to have insane drive and self belief to make it to the top of MMA. Plus, training with fighters will make you understand pretty quickly that you have to have a few screw loose to want to fight for a living.

So many things have to go right for a fighter to make it, even if he has the skills, toughness and right coaching. One bad injury can set you back years or end a career.

I know an undefeated regional pro who was just about to break to the next level when he fucked up his knee. The guy has it all...but now he can't train for close to a year.

Maybe it's just too hard a path for some whose parent did it and made good money

If anything like Sr then no thanks. Bunch of decisions by arm punching.
