i wonder if these financial issues had anything to do with his "falling out" with Shawn Williams, and his refusal to let students that wanted to follow Williams out of their contracts, lol.

Honestly- it's just funny seeing his name in that place- as far as whether the tax lien is appropriate- we'll find out- it's also not that large of a sum for a celebrity to owe in back taxes- see Wesley Snipes.

64k for a 5 year span (2003-2008) is a drop in the bucket. I'm assuming that 64k is also including penalties. Franchise tax Board is pretty lenient, a good accountant will get him free and clear for a fraction of that. If I had to guess, he received income from all over the world and from hundreds of sources and a couple 1099's got lost. Big deal, I'm sure he's fine.

Fight Skillz you have no clue what youre talking about. Just know that.

This tax issue is not Flanery's fault, I will say that much.

Lergic, perhaps you can clarify how you know the tax issue isn't Flanery's fault? Whose fault is it?

Is there actually proof that SW was fired and the fallout was indeed "big". I read a couple of threads about the situation and all I got from it was, they went their separate ways. Never heard either one of them say a negative thing about the situation.

Its hard to make money in bjj when you have 1 school and too many employess. SW is a big enough name in bjj, he should have his own school. Isn't that the most likely reason for the split?

I'm not doubting that something might have went down, just asking if there is any proof.

to be honest, the only 'proof' i have is one of my good friends from hawaii moved to LA and started training there. when i heard about the split, i called him and he said 'some serious S**T is going down right now, things aren't good.' that being said.. you probably know more than me, so i'll stop right there. hope things work out for both of them.

All I have is info that I just read on the web, so I'll follow your lead and leave it alone as well.

I was a student at HBJJ. You're correct that the split was not on good terms. There also was some complications with money and getting some students out of their contracts at HBJJ. I would not be surprised if the tax allegations about SPF (if true) had something to do with it.

Flanney is in this season of Dexter (Spoiler).

That should pay some (a lot of) bills.
