Scuba diver attacked underwater... By another diver.

Losing your air supply due to an attack certainly is shocking, but hardly life threatening. Divers are trained to breathe out slowly and recover their regulator. If they can't, there is a secondary air source standing by. Failing that, buddy breathing or an emergency ascent if your buddy is too far away is always an option.

This.

Overly dramatic much ... they look like they are like 30 feet underwater.

I believe that the article is overly dramatic, but it does say 15 meters, so closer to 50 feet. Even if it was just 30 feet, people don't understand how deep 30 feet underwater is. That's a 3-story building between you and the surface. 30 feet is 2 atmospheres of pressure. You can't just swim down or swim up without serious risk of injury. I don't think this lady was in a life or death scenario, but anything you do in 30 feet of water is srs bizness.

he was apparently reef fishing and didnt want a photo taken of him, is what is said in the article.

Yeah it would have really hurt his image to appeared in a video being unrecognizable wearing scuba gear goggles, and having his air supply covering his face.

The Trauma.

people be crazy man

She would have had every right to stab the sob to protect her air supply.

Depending how long she was down a emergency surface could have gotten her bent.

So when you're deep underwater and your air supply is unexpectedly yanked out of your mouth, water doesn't immediately flood your mouth and drown you?

Finally someone posting who's not a self proclaimed TUF guy saying no big deal. There was evil intent. Who knows what other abnormal violent shit that turd does to other strangers, like maybe road rage.

The local news said the bad guy was taking aquarium fish. I'm guessing it was to sell in pet stores.

The woman was documenting reef damage and her attacker didn't want there so he attacked her. And he continued making threatening gestured. She should carry a spear gun with her the next time.

No, obviously judging by the video, it didn't happen in her case. Regulators (air supply mouthpieces) come out pretty frequently, as far as diving mishaps go. Staying calm and replacing it or using your secondary (backup mouthpiece) is literally one of the first things a diver is trained to do. Now, if she was taking a breath right at the moment, she could inhale some water if she panicked, but even then, she should be able to recover and clear her mouthpiece, cough out the water and be okay.

But what do I know? I'm just a TUF guy who's never done a scuba dive in his life.

Never go diving without a Russian underwater assault rifle

if the man in question had this then I'd understand this being newsworthy
