I haven't trained for 2 years because of work and now that I have available time, I'm scared to go back training not because of getting hurt but since I haven't trained in a long time my conditioning is extremely poor. I'm afraid of the feeling of exhaustion and that I'll just drag my teammates down and disappoint my coach. Any advise?

Wrong forum ... still tho , why dont you just go anyways ? The coaches and your training partners will understand your situation , and eventually you will improve your conditioning thru training and probably specific training .... dude , just go.
Good luck with training

It will come back to you, be patient, and maybe your teamates want to help you out... There's no reason to think you'll be bringing them down.

Getting your fitness back is the easy part, should take less than 3 weeks

Start at home some. Go jogging, do a few pushups, planks, roman chairs and shadowboxing. Once you start firing the muscles up a bit it will be much easier to go without getting too smashed.

I had to quit back in 2007 because of a neck injury, since that has healed my back has started giving me issues also. I just figured I'm past it, although Hendo is slightly older than me and competing...lol, damn that guys a stud. Anyway, I just had to stop obsessing about what I can't do and be more worried about what I still can do, sucks because I was an active guy, but fighting age is a losing battle. How old are you TS, if your still young enough without physical limitations I'd go for it, if not you'll be kicking yourself in the ass later when you physically can't do it anymore.

Someone told me if you've been in really good shape, your body kicks starts quickly once you resume training and you'll get close to your peak fitness relatively quickly. I dont know if I believe that, but it helps motivate me to stop procrastinating and get back to training if I've had a few weeks/months off.

The first couple of sessions will be hard, but if you work to failure no one should find fault in that. Make sure you recover properly and get lots of sleep. Pretty soon you'll still be working till failure, but it'll feel good.

Get in shape fat ass. First world problems.

Don't be a pussy and. Train if you want to.
