My school teaches both Savate and Muay Thai as seperate programs but also cross trains them. People already know alot about MT and how it uses kicks and knees and elbows, etc.

Savate uses "snap" kicks that are meant to be used with a shoe point to damage, some sweep kicks and spinning kicks (I personally don't know the names since I don't train it for testing). All are pretty damaging but I myself prefer Muay Thai as my "style".

There isn't much I personally take from Savate training as far as kicking style for MMA or even kickboxing, but I love it for working on footwork and punch/kick combinations on the days it is offered at my gym.

Errrrm...Andy Souwer and the rest of the former "Shootboxing" guys...?

Watch some clips on youtube for each.

Savate likes using the ball of the foot to strike with.
