The simple solution to bring oil prices back down is pretty obvious. End the sanctions. They aren't legal and they are doing us more harm than Russia. If you want to end the sanctions and save face, then stop ordering Zelensky not to negotiate. Zelensky doen't want to negotiate peace because both NATO told him not to and the nazis in his military would be dangerously angry if he did so. If Zelensky is encouraged to negotiate peace, which he has wanted to do this whole time, ffs, its what he campaigned on, then we could say that we are ending our "successful" sanctions as they had deterred the continuation of the war effort.
However, if the goal is to sell weapons to europe and dump weapons into the most corrupt country in europe with no accountability at tax-payer expense, we are doing a hell of a job. If we want our oil and gas companies to price-gouge like thieves and earn record profits during a "tight energy market", we are also doing a hell of a job.
The ruling class, and by extension, the political class don't care about the average american's suffering so long as it enriches the corporations and interests that are funding them.
