All she needed to do was use her wrestling to keep it standing. Tate was not going to be able to compete with her on the feet, and Tate was not going to be able to take her down. Instead, McMann twice went for a takedown and twice went directly into the only advantage Tate had over in the fight -- jitsu.

Huge mistake by Sara in an extremely winnable fight.

The takedown in the third was fine but she didn't lock the position down then ended up on her back. McMann has nothing on the ground.

Agreed. Sara proved she's not a good fighter period I don't give a fuck if she landed a shot. WMMA is weak.

The takedown in the third was pointless. Tate cannot win that fight standing. There is zero reason to try and take Tate down. It's the only place in the fight Tate can win at.

Wut

She's a good fighter, but that was a mistake, and her Jitsu clearly isn't evolved enough yet to be competitive from the bottom.

Yep. Winning standup and try to takedown? Horrid fight IQ. Bad fighter.

I thought McMann won rounds 1-2 if we're being honest.

No way. Not fluid at all. No instinct. Nothing to be seen.

Her takedown in round 2 cost her the round.

Her takedown in round 3 cost her the round.

Tate was landing shots on her at the end of second that hurt Sara and it looked like was about to recreate the same in the third before the takedown.

You overestimate McMann's striking.

I thought Tate would win this fight going into it but as it played out TS is correct.

Meisha is the split image of Caraway no striking but good grappling

Tate by lay and pray she knew she it was even and did what she had to do

Tate landed a few shots at the end of the round that connected, and McMann went for a takedown that she didn't need to go for. Even if she "needed" to go for it, she certainly didn't need to in the third.

McMann doesn't have the best striking in the world but she has enough power that Miesha is going to lose that standing. And as everyone saw, she was.

I still think McMann is the biggest threat to Rousey., which is why I was hoping to see her win. She's the only one Rousey is going to have difficult taking down and has the power to knock Rousey out. It's a shame we won't see that rematch anytime soon now. McMann needs to work on her jitsu badly, but I think she could have skated by without it for a while longer.

Are we forgetting she shot for the takedown on the second because she got tagged?
She also looked for the TD on the third because Miesha closed the distance and she got a good position for a takedown.
Yeah, it was not the brightest performance, but it's not as simple and bad as you're making it sound.
