The Sapateiro Invitational is a professional grappling event that pays each competitor for every win they get, not just the champion. We will be offering a free stream for our first event that will allow everyone to watch high level leg lock specialists compete in a professional environment.

RULES
  • Matches will consist of one 10 minute round, submission only - absolutely no points whatsoever.
  • Overtime rules are explained below. Only one round of over time leading to the finals. If no submission both competitors go to the loser bracket. In the finals we will have continuous overtime until submission.
  • Competitors must wear a rash guard and shorts or tights. NO exceptions.
  • All Submissions are Legal - Slamming is only allowed to get out of a submission
  • The winner of each division will receive 1,000 for taking the division.
  • One warning for stalling then a DQ will be handed out per the Ref's discretion.
Sapateiro OT Rules:
  • OT will start in the 50/50 position, and will last 5 minutes. If the 50/50 position is lost then the match will continue as normal.

Come join us in sunny Sarasota, Florida for a night where we will crown the best leg lock specialist around. This will be an 16 Man Lightweight Invitational focused on competitors who consider themselves leg lock specialists or Sapateiros. It will be a live event with tickets available for purchase in the near future. If you cannot make it to the event in person we will offer a live stream as well. We have a great lineup of competitors in the works, so stay tuned for more information!

Yeah it was a great match. The tournament as a whole was awesome. Lots of submissions, lots of leglocks specifically, and lots of back-and-forth action. The seminar beforehand with Garry was awesome too.
