You can have him, no reasonable offer refused.
I would consider lending him out at negative interest rates.

Rex, let's make this simple. Is partial ownership of the markets or means of production by the government socialism?
If it is, then we are a socialist country.
If it is not, then Democratic socialism, and socialism are not the same thing at all. They are barely related.
ratjow will join you.
Rarely are things in life black and white. The United States, like most countries, has been hoodwinked into adopting some socialistic policies. The US is not a socialist country. Private industry is robust, though on the socialism continuum it is too far left for my taste.
We certainly need to reverse the tend towards socialism.
Hello again Rex, I am all for meaningful exchanges of ideas, so I will give you another chance on the 2 questions I asked, that you chose to give a tangent answer to.
Can you give me an example of a candidate that is offering to keep things the same as their platform? If not than can you concede this is not a good rational you gave as an explanation for why Bernie is authentic?
Is partial government ownership of the markets socialism?
I can't even figure out what you're saying in that second paragraph. Are you asking who else is offering "something different" in this year's election? David Duke, for one. Some fringe lunatics, like the guy from the Communist Party of the United States. They're both running for President. Unless you mean something different. If so, clarify. Your wording is cryptic.
How about you define your terms of "partial government ownership"? Last I checked the US government does not own instruments or subjects of labor, so no, the US is not socialist. You're trying to do a reductio ad absurdum or something, and it's pretty lame. Bernie wants to fundamentally change this country into a socialist one. Implicit in that promise of transformation is that we are not currently socialist. And that's why you like him, isn't it? Promises something different?
