I know this might seems like a strange idea, but I've been thinking about it lately. On some occasions, I will find myself without proper equipment, but with a duffel bag and plenty of plastic water bottles. I figured I could just fill the bag with those, and here is my "sand" bag. I'll try this next time I'm away from my barbell, but anybody tried it before?

I suppose this could work. I can't imagine it is going to be remotely comfortable picking the thing up or bear hugging it with water bottles stabbing you all over. I would still suggest buying a couple bags of sand (like $5 a piece) and some heavy duty trash bags and some tape. If you already have a duffle bag the rest of the stuff shouldn't run you more than about $30. If you actually try it give us an update.

i do this, since i'm not living in a place permanent enough that i want to invest my time in a sandbag. works okay for some things (i've mostly been using it for swings, actually) but stuff involving bear hugs isn't that great, and i don't think it can get as heavy as a sandbag. but it's better than nothing.

Hugging a big ass bag full of hard waterbottles must be the most awkward thing ever...it'd feel like hugging a giant bag of severed baby limbs....

Sure it would be better, but I'm not sure I'll be able to do that... I'm going to move regularly between Nanda
