sandbag video

I consider what he did to be a clean. A "continental clean" but he cleaned it.

props for posting your vids bro. i think your form is a little bit off, but 1) its a sandbag and 2) youre stronger than me.

so a friend of yours does it the same way and that is what you base your being right on? you have some very circular logic going there. as far as form nazis go, well i don't know if any of us are national socialists but i do think we have cause to critique your form. you post these videos, which i think is brave, but then you expect no one to explain why you are doing certain things poorly and in some cases just plain wrong. to clean a sandbag from floor to catch is harder than a barbell but that doesn't mean you get to get it up to your shoulders anyway you want and call it a clean. as i keep saying, stop trying to lift above your abilities, focus on form, and the weight your after will be there very soon i bet.

A friend of mine? I've never met him. Jedd is a well known amateur strongman competitor from Pennsylvania. He's very close to winning his strongman pro card.

My girlfriend is in Italy right now and i'm in NY so i had sex with her 10 minutes ago. Its may not be straight sex but it was "continental sex."

Obviously there are differences here in terminology and over what proper form is. Instead of improving you seem to be out to prove something. Your gonna hit a sticking point and that form is gonna bite you in the ass...hopefully in won't be too major of injury...

Don't take it so personal Deezel. Nobody here said to make soap out of your fat or put you in an oven. You got that Queens attitude, which used to be a Brooklyn attitude until the trendinistas moved in, and thats a good thing. But the next time you go "HERE, LOOK AT ME" instead of looking and not beng impressed i'll just keep going...

Some of you guys with like this thumping of your chests and macho bravado of what it means to be a man to train...tough guys win the battle, smart guys win the war.

Carnal, great call bro. I completely forgot about the continental clean. YOu are right though. I don't practice them thats why the form looked a little off.

I don't think there is anything wrong with critiquing a form but it seems like some guys are just joining a band wagon. LIke i said earlier, props to him for posting the videos.........Carnal, time to implement the 405 rule again. If you can't deadlift 405 then quit your yapping. Nobody wants your opinion on how to do a lift anyway.

Pariah, what are you talking about??? It is simple lifting and guys want to get stronger, thats what this board is about. If you think it is about pumping your fist or showing how macho you are, well, thats all in your head. People come here for advice and for intelligent critiquijng, not shit talk

What am i talking about? See the above post about "405 or stop your yapping," by that dude Rickdog. Oh thats you.

Ok fair enough iv never heard of a "continental clean" and i didn't realise he was doing a different movement, i was going off of the "Power Clean Throws" out of Ross Enamait's book where its just 2 explosive moves, the clean and the throw, and no i havn't deadlifted 405 yet but then again i havn't tried a max for over a year, but i can power clean and throw a 100lb sandbag like i explained it.

Pariah, It is kind of a joke, something that was discussed probably before you were around if you don't know what im talking about. But the principle behind it is a good one. Something like this.....If you have no idea what your talking about, or you have not done those things yourself then make a point of not talking about it. It becomes usless blather, kind of like your last post.

Don't be bitchy pussies. Lift real weights or shut your fucking pecker holes.

Lil boyz living at home talking about what it means to not to be a pussy... wondering why they can't get laid...you guys are funny...

Carnal, I like your manifesto and you got some style but i'm not going to be one of your little parishoners...you got a ways to go before you become a man still and its not going to be come when you reach an 800lbs. squat...

I've learned some things on this forum but it really has very little to do with MMA and more about cliques i see...

The strongest man stands alone-Ibsen

What types of bags did you use for the sand? And where did you get the kettlebells? Know anyplace for a good price? I have a 20lb and it was a shitload of money

Pariah, You talk alot about getting laid and how the "little boys" don't get any. Is this reverse psychology on your part. You are the one who seems to have alot of pent aggression.

PS If the strongest man stands alone then you are certainly in a crowd......Pussy.

Please do not include, "getting laid" and "little boys" in the same sentence!

HAHAHAHA, he did it first.. My bad. Go figure, the dubs won't allow me to edit.

Sandbags are a great workout. As long as you build up slowly and stay within your limits, some looseness with form will not hurt you. Proper lifting positions do not often occur in live grappling situations. The key is that the closer it is to your max effort, the stricter you must be with your form to avoid injury.

I agree, while it can be important to maintain posture in some situations (shouldering a very heavy bag), the rounded back nature of say, lifting it off the ground, is part of why it's a good strength too, similar to stone lifting for example.
